Lack of Comms - 3 Nov 2008

Today I have heard it all.

I was contacted by a member who came to my offices with £30 which was very close to the deadline to accept the monies for the Gala dinner and he didn't even have the menu and asked me for it so he could complete it.

Couldn't quite believe that his captain hadn't given him a copy like 3 weeks ago, that people didn't pick it up when we had them at recent competitions and that he also didn't print a copy I sent via email.

Guys please remember it is your responsibility once we publish articles, memos, newsletters that you spread the word, you are the members of the association and its in your interests!!!!

Anyways....

Has been an easy day and although the above happened during my Microsoft course (which is nearly over) I managed to send the completed article for the eXtra Ranking - Millennium Singles to the Press, Members & Contacts.

We also have something that is very likely to turn up very very soon and members will be made aware of it. This is WADA the doping scheme which will be adopted by the WDF and that the GDA will also have to adopt. All this came about as I asked the president of the WDF about how things where with the GAISF application to recognise darts as an Olympic sport and that as per his instructions we had not been contacted by them yet.

Roy replied with concerns on WADA which is the 1st step that needs enforcing!!!!!!!

The GDA will have to take this into account as it will be unacceptable to allow a player who takes drugs to participate and if caught at a WDF event could break the National squad and any chances of participation. More to the point a ban from the WDF for several years, who knows how strict they will be!!!!
