Just another day with lots of stuff I have been meaning to do.
I also receive a few phone calls including one from CarlT. asking about the practising software for darts called Darts For Windows. I send him the links to both the old and new version and advise him that the new one costs around £19 but that its much more realistic and suggest to him he tries that one 1st as it has a trial time period. I also think, I'll forward these links to all members but quite frankly decide against that idea, only for the simple fact that I then get more phone calls or emails asking for instructions or can I pay for it on their behalf online etc etc, so no way joseeeee sorry...
Dr. Patrick Chaplin, the darts historian, is also proving to be a great help to get information and he tells me he has found an article in the dartsworld magazine concerning some games played in St. Michael's Cave way back in the 1990's. He obliges and forwards the article to me which was I must say a very factual and interesting read. Even my good friend Lionel Sams (now a professional with the PDC) is named. I didn't know you were that old Lionel jejejeje.
Back to the 50th Gala Dinner and thinking of ways to advertise it locally and throughout the world and quite frankly there is only one place to get the ball rolling and that has to be the social networking called http://www.facebook.com/
I start by creating a group called GDA and then creating an event called GDA 50th Gala Dinner.
Thinking that's it I'll send it to the few friends I have in facebook and I'll let them spread the word. Then I think what the heck I'll export all my 637 contacts that I have in my email and invite those too, you just never know what might happen (even more history records might crop up).
Great idea in principle but 3 hours later I was glad I had finished. Then I thought to myself, Justin stop coming up with great ideas as you know they take time, get on the board and practise instead...
