Well today I am still receiving email replies with thanks for the eCard I sent recently which is all good.
We had the Turkey Shoot event today and although it went very well I personally was very disappointed with the continued attitude and disrespect shown by certain members. Their behavior was appalling including personal insults which I received on the night.
Quite frankly it is not acceptable to receive any personal abuse when you are standing 2 feet away watching members behaving like little children and if they want to act like little children then they will be treated like that in the future. Deformation of character is simply not acceptable whether in darts or in real life and no one should be subjected to that.
Anyways I will sit down with the committee to get some basic ruling sorted on that matter and all members will be made aware that its not acceptable. For smaller things members have been disciplined in other sports in Gibraltar such as in football so its clear to me that after several personal assaults that it has to end.
If people keep disrespecting the head of the association when quite frankly his intentions are for bettering the association, in the end you have to throw your hands in the air and simply give up. I am not ready for that but I have been receiving too much unnecessary, uncalled for stick from the committee, members and contacts so if it continues unfortunatly for my own health and benefit it might just push me towards leaving.
It all comes down to freedom of speech (not insults) and being able to both express and manage the committee and members and directing the association as one feels it should be heading. Currently its the total opposite and that simply must change.
On a positive note I have received excellent feedback from Spain and its looks like we will have several qualifier events and the one we will host in Gibraltar so all good.
