I have been waiting for Friday all week to see if the practicing has paid off, so I am rather excited about tonight.
With this in mind I have been quite gladly doing several tasks, one of them being adding Darren's team to textanywhere (our online texting service). I understand why he has asked for this as it does make it easier for him to contact his team, without having to search through the 120 odd listing of members with mobile phones.
Its a pretty cool system for various reasons; I can send messages in 1 go to all members, I can program the delivery of text messages to a date & time of choice, I can quickly check messages have been received at handsets (and members can't bulls**t, telling me they never received the text message) and most importantly I avoid wasting time and money to keep members informed.
Again I have reminded DarrenO. about going to Gache for the memorabilia 50th gift we were meant to give on the night of the 8th November and which was promised to some that attended. Its getting beyond a joke and I am truly getting tired of asking and asking and asking the committee to get certain things sorted which never get done. They are all grown men so let them do it when they feel like quite frankly, but things like these have to get done one way or another (well just like a few other things that also need to be strictly adhered to and they are not cordially obliging until the s**t hits the fan and then they like me will have to account for our actions).
Olly Croft has headed off to Bridlington today but kindly enough Maxine from the BDO has answered my email and we have been given the tickets for the Banquet. Seeing we got accepted (even 3 days late from the deadline - so thanks Maxine), I send a second email informing them that one in our party is a vegetarian.
The Gibraltar darts website needs updating so I get the super league entry forms sorted, decide on a deadline being 9th January 2008 and uploaded the forms to the download section of the website. Then I added Dylan's link of his recent ranking which he won last Friday (also added it to the history & archives section for records purposes).
Yesterday we reviewed the disciplinary against one of the members which was pending and we weren't sure on a few things on how much power the disciplinary committee has. In a nutshell the disciplinary committee can suspend a member for a month whilst the disciplinary committee investigates. Then the disciplinary committee hands the written course of action to the membership committee and they decide whether to accept the recommendation or not and vote on it.
Lastly I print off the Winmau & World Pro Playoff's draw. Even though we get all this stuff when we arrive in Bridlington its usually quite hectic so I have placed the draws in order of time and like that we know who can watch others games (depending if they lose) that way its much better as Gibraltar players can support each other. I'll do it summarized and give that to each player so they all know the times and which board we are all playing from.
This sounds like it was easy, file print a few times, well let me tell you the files were not printable as they were in PDF format and were protected. What I ended up doing was print screens, cutting the parts needed and then printing those. Thought you should know it was not as simple as it seemed.
