How can things be the same every day!!! My life is great I am not complaining but all this GDA stuff gets rather repetitive especially when the same idiots are doing all the hard grafting.
Today I reminded DarrenO. that he truly should go to the shop 'Gache' to get the commemorative item we were going to give at the 50th anniversary Gala Dinner. After that and as per the norm I start thinking GDA so I remembered that I needed to remind several teams that they have subs to pay and they should do that ASAP or I will have to tell the committee and we collectively will make a decision.
Members simply don't understand that if unpaid dues are left like that, then the monies are gone forever especially if the team breaks up next year or the club were they are playing from refuses to cover the costs next year (which has happened before).
After the above I add a new member and although we have a two week break from the league games I decide to get it sorted as most probably I will be able to hand in the new membership sheet to the team captain this coming Friday.
Further to above I decide to chill out cos we also have a captains meeting to decide on a few changes to the yearly calendar of events. Oh not before I wrote a few emails to Roy Price confirming our attendance at the Lakeside & the Winmau World Masters.
The captains meeting has gone well with calm tempers as things should be, however I am still not too happy that no minutes are ever recorded and if there are any then they are being kept in note form in some booklet which are not in my possession and in the end they will inevitably get misplaced or thrown away. Not to talk badly about the secretary because he also has a life and is busy as we all are these days but its my obligation to try to encourage him to do things the right way and avoid situations which do crop up and without minutes we simply can't make people accountable on any decisions made and the things that are said at ANY meeting. For that reason I have told the secretary that minutes are paramount and last night it might have finally clicked because of something that came up!!!
