As is the routine I complete pending articles and am quite happy I have finished the press release concerning the squad who will attend the Winmau World Masters. This year we have an added bonus which is Dylan Duo attending the Ladbrokes.com World Qualifiers for the PDC. Dyson I might add you were 3 minutes away from not adding your latest sponsor into the article as I was about to send it to the press and members alike.
This my friends is good although it entailed extra work for me as I had to paste his photo in the group photo of the Winmau but if I don't do it that way and send two photos to the press they either print 1 or the other. This way I am assured that they either don't publish or publish the single photo submitted.
Yes I am being true to myself and have practiced around 3 hours, playing 501 games and finishes.
DarrenO. the league secretary has been reading my posts which is good of course and I have amended one of them which was not very clear in the way I explained that I had lost all my mobile contacts.
I have also remembered a bye-law which I am sure has not been officially written on the league rules which also seriously concerns me and once in a while I remind Darren we need to sit down and sort out, once and for all. At least I am making a note of the inclusions and changes required, so that when we do sit down we can go through them one by one.
Finally I have squared up the totals concerning the membership fees for 2008/09 and will be able to pass that on to the treasurer on our return from the Winmau. It took me a while (2 hours) but its finally done.
In consequence of this I emailed Jonah and a few others to clarify certain things which are still required in terms of member details such as the dates of birth. All I'll say that it is their fault if a member is a youth player and they have been charged £20 instead of £10. They have had ample time as its not the 1st time I have reminded captains about this.
We are also interested this year in doing some fundraising for the GBC Open day so I've emailed GBC to ask them which day has been set for that and I have also emailed Darren in the hope we can have a plan of action. I am just hoping that members do better last year as it was quite embarrassing last year. In fact it was pathetic last year. Not in terms of the fundraising as we raised over £400 for such a worthy cause, what was woeful was the support received from the members themselves which was none existent.
For this reason I have summoned my good friend Richard Harman who is so good for these things and I have emailed the committee as I want Jonah Jones (and his kids) as well to help out cos they were undoubtedly the stars last year, simply because of their lively characters. Thanks of course to everyone else that participated last year.
Finally I have further cleared all the clutter around my room including around 20 news papers I had lying about. They are all nicely tucked away until the time I can scan them all in one sweep.
