Its truly never ending, I cant even remember most of the things covered in the past week in terms of GDA work.
To start off I had to be in comms with Cataluña as I was missing the player profile & photo of Federico Pozo who won the Gibraltar Open 2008 and this is needed as we only have a few days to go before I submit our player registrations for the Winmau World Masters.
I finally get it from the Darts President of Cataluña FEC so I am good to go and I prepare an email for Olly Croft and zip all the photos, multi entry form and player profiles and send it off.
During the course of the week I have also had interesting emails with Patrick Chaplin Darts Historian who has kindly sent over letters from Carmelo Ellul & the late Joe Goldwin who where in charge of the association in the 1970's with letters confirming the history of the sport in Gibraltar.
Patrick also kindly got in contact with Eddie Norman, former BDO darts organiser that came to Gibraltar in the 1974 and I received some useful information from him as well on how they experienced Gibraltar. If you want further information then post a comment and I'll paste it here. Thanks to Eddie & Patrick of course.
On the last day of this post, things got complicated as the membership sheets I had prepared only catered for 14 photos of players per sheet and guess what, Francis T. knocks on my door lunchtime and hands me a further two players which makes his team total 15 (B$%$%ks) now I have to redesign the membership forms and change the header (make it smaller). After an hour of tinkering with the report I finally get it sorted and I convert all the reports into PDF so that I can print them off and now 16 players fit in a single A4 sized sheet.
Just to finish off JonahJ. calls me up as he wants to add another player.
A new members also involves adding the new players to the database, which means scanning their photos, resizing them (original copy), resizing them again (for the database) and adding all the player details to the database too..... and you want membership cards, I don't think so....
