The day started with an early reminder of the Johnny Neale Charity event which will be played tomorrow. I did this by sending an email of course what else!!!!!
I hope people turn up as this was a change in the schedule.
It was going to be a points competition but the committee had decided that it was either put up in legs to at least best of 5 or leave as is best of 3 and no points awarded.
I received an interesting email too asking for the points for a game that College Cosmos B had already played against drop outs Cue Ball. Sent it to Darren to see if he would find it amusing and I wasn't wrong. Games already played have to stand as is unfortunately unless the rules change.
We now have confirmed the Central Hall for presentation night so that's one less thing to worry about. This leave the Gib Open so I email Joe Hernandez of the GSLA to see if we could make use of the Old Victoria Stadium for that.
Darren kindly prepared a thanks letter for publication in the Gibraltar Chronicle. I read it add a few missing entities which I personally deal with and I send it, see below:
The committee of the Gibraltar Darts Association would like to express our gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the recent PDC Darts Tournaments.
Special thanks go to: The Hon. Peter R Caruana (QC – Chief Minister), The Hon. Edwin Reyes (Minister for Sports), Joe Hernandez and staff at GSLA Victoria Stadium, Alan Asquez & staff at the Victoria Stadium Bar, George Pussey & staff at Celebrity Wine Bar, Charlie McCann & all the staff at Stan James, GBC & all the crew, Chevrolet for sponsoring the broadcast “Pro Darts Gibraltar 2009”, 7Days, The Gibraltar Chronicle, GBC Radio & BFBS Gibraltar, www.WhatsAroundGibraltar.com, www.darderos.com, www.the-rock-of-gibraltar.com/ GibLive!, GDA members & friends who helped to set up the venue & take it all down again, and most of all the public who flocked in such large numbers to witness such a masterful display of darting skill.
We will try and make next years’ event even bigger and better.
Yours in Darts
GDA Committee
