Friendship Cup - 14 Nov 2008

What a good night we have had especially as our team managed to win (College Cosmos - Dylan Duo, Henry Zapata, Christian Tosso, Amos Bosano, Justin Broton) and further to that, hit the winning double.

After being placed number 5 (its a five man team), I appeared to be the backup plan (or at least I referred to it like that on the night). after winning several games 3 - 1 I didnt play a game up until the final when we were 2 - 2 and I had to play the last game to win the title. After 2 hours of throwing the odd dart just to keep warmed up I was thrown to the lions for the last game to win the title.

I had not taken my keys for the darts cabinet and quite happy I didn't simply because when I do, I get bothered all night and when you yourself are playing it can put you off.

Also I received a few strong words from several players when I had to tell them to move back from the players area, they seem to forget that it does bother players and it catches their line of sight. Its my responsibility to be on top of things like that and I always tell off anyone who is not following the general etiquette of the game.

BTW this is the fourth year in a row we have won the Friendship Cup and if I am not wrong in more than one occasion I have thrown the winning double lol.

I am also glad I took the football fundraiser cards as it appears that no one in the committee is giving any thought to fundraising. I have asked in several occasions for the purchase of a few bottles of whiskey, vodka, bacardi, whatever, but I will ask no longer. All I'll do is take the football fundraiser cards and we do that instead. The only problem is that people wash their hands from that responsibility and that is the part I don't like especially because of the importance of raising money whenever possible.

I also hope Dianne & Dave Obee had a good night. We picked them up from their hotel so they could enjoy a night of darts (thanks ChristianT). I was especially proud for them to have seen our 2nd Friendship Cup win!!!!!!
