No matter how things turn out I call Sundays "GDA Day" as I can complete things that are outstanding before the start of the week, simply because otherwise things just accumulate and escalate out of hand.
Its not appreciated I know as its only what people see that is!!!!!! but nevertheless I know these things are very important, such as sending loads of emails, updating the website, keeping everyone informed, records, events, preparing forms. All of it is exposure, exposure, exposure.
Our sponsors need to see movement, action, liveliness, willingness to grow and Sunday has become all about that.
I now have the Kronenbourg 1664 Singles results that Darren gave me, but I am going to send out the news to the media that Dylan Duo has joined the PDC. I spend a few hours tweaking an image I have of him throwing darts which is spot on for this article (thankfully Darren had already prepared the article which saves me a few hours too to say the least).
After I finish this I send an email to Darren so that he can send over the finals results which he told me he recorded (of the Kronenbourg 1664 singles recently played) and all that makes writing articles a much simpler chore.
I also have been busy again with the history of the game as we have a 10 year gap of when we became affiliated to the BDO. Joe Goldwin says in a letter we did so in 1963 but Carmelo Ellul states in his own letter that it was 1973!!!!!.
I send Olly Croft (Chairman of the BDO) an email to see if he can shed some light on the matter.
Further to previous I read about Mr. Hitchcock who was a professional player who visited the Rock in 1960 and who impressively threw with 6 inch nails. I send off another email to the media asking if anyone has any photos of the event or of the player himself, which given the time I have no problems in preparing a small but cool presentation for our 50th Gala Dinner.
Nearly time for the SkyPoker World Grand Prix Final on Sky Sports TV which should be starting in around 2 hours, lets see what sort of impressive show Raymond and Phil have up their sleeves. All I have to say is that even playing at a mediocre level it will still be out of this world accuracy.
What the heck I'll email the members on a few outstanding issues, eg. apology George, Captains meeting correction on booklet, Tuesday eXtra Ranking and Dylans move to PDC.
HarryP. & DavidP. both have given me an interesting link to Joe Hitchcock 6 Inch Nail Thrower, thanks guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZy8ZaT9icE
I also take this opportunity to clean up my email contacts as I have over 76 Spanish & Catalan contacts now but it is difficult to find them if not properly grouped. The problem also arises because some groups are split up for example: media local, media all, contacts & members. I Will get it sorted soon as otherwise information that is only meant for members can reach a contact (for example a member that is not playing this year automatically becomes a contact instead, but unfortunatly this is a manual process and involves a bit of time to sort out). I send enough emails to bother the contacts when its only relevant to members. Apologies for the inconvenience I will get it sorted, bare with me.
