And just when I thought my darting day was over I suddenly realise it had just began...
At 9pm and whilst I wait for Darren who I have arranged with to go through a few things, I am in the meantime changing a photo for DylanD. which I am hoping to use for the press and its a rather cool one of him throwing, in fact its the only one which is good (more on this later).
Its 10pm and Darren as promised comes to see me. I receive the Kronenbourg results which was a competition held recently and I tell him that I will post and send to press on Sunday which is when is my usual fixed day of the week to complete media articles.
In speaking to Darren we clear off a few things that have been done and I tell him its pretty urgent to get the 50 anniversary going as we have to send the invites URGENTLY.
We co-ordinate ideas and a few things crop up. One of which is getting the long awaited Presentation Night Photos over to him so he can prepare a CD for FrancisT. who has been asking for them for ages (I have in turn been asking for records and for way way WAYYYY longer than a few months tat tat tat Francis...), well no probs I upload them to the server and send DarrenO. a link.
I also bother AmosB. by sending him an email (who as always is a star and helps out the GDA quite a lot in the background). Hopefully he will oblige as I would like him to continue the list of oldies who used to play by adding a few more we received from a chronicle cutout (of 1979 when Luis Busto won a major competitition at the time) and put it on a spreadsheet we are maintaining. Once we have this we will send letters of invites for our 50th ASAP.
Darren BTW is still at my house and I get the new Membership sheets sorted for him too. I open up the database obtain the header and detail part of the report and then convert it to PDF ready for printing.
Darren leaves and a few minutes later I remember to send him a few emails so he doesn't forget what we have been speaking about, I advise him that the leaguerepublic website (which is were we have all the league stuff like upcoming games & results: http://www.gibdarts.leaguerepublic.com/) that when you visit the website it defaults to last years results and also the notice for the AGM needs to be taken off. I tried doing this several weeks ago but I couldn't find the option to do so, so, next best thing ask Darren to get it sorted...
Lastly I make note of stuff to do tomorrow but I end the night at 12:20 in the morning by sending an email to all members reminding them that League results must be returned to the Cue Ball mailbox as soon as possible after your last league match. You have been warned....
