Told you so - 23 Oct 2008

What did I say in a recent post!!! Someone else knows I have the darts32 program I recently gave KarlM. What people don't understand is that it takes them 30 seconds to write me an email asking. However it takes me over 5 minutes to complete my email reply to them!!! Here's why: I always forget the link name on the website and have to check myself, I always advise them that the new software is much much better and then I have to copy the links to the new and old software and send all this via email.

I don't mind overdoing my replies in email which obviously I could cut down to "here it is", or "yes / no" answers but that's the way I am. I am writing it here so that you are all aware and start to practice patience because things are changing in my life as I have recently learned the hard way that people are very selfish and don't appreciate someone until they have gone!!!!!!!! So basically from now on it will be me 1st, things I want to do in the GDA 2nd, and other GDA matters 3rd... If appreciation would be different then my level of devotion might switch but as things are NO WAY...

Today too I finally got down to contacting TonyD. (a previous GDA secretary), as he has been asking questions concerning the PDC coming over in January and seeing I have a few questions of my own concerning our 50th Gala it is time to write him an email. In consequence of his email I have registered him with our team (College Cosmos) so that at least when he is over from the UK he is guaranteed a game. This of course is a much simpler process than that of last year as I don't have to prepare those pesky membership cards. I have simply ticked him as active on our database and reprinted the membership team sheet which I will keep in my famous bag for our next game which is in 2 weeks time from now (or as soon as I see the captain DylanD.) whichever comes first.

As I am still on the course and will be for the next 7 days to come, I have informed the committee on a few important issues by email and via txt messages suggesting they read some important information form the BDO & WDF.

DylanD. sent me a txt message as he has forgotten his password YET AGAIN to get into his email. He should start getting to grips with all this Internet stuff like I have advised him in the past. Problem is I don't like to repeat myself so he will learn the hard way too and will think back to the times when he spent 3 years and I had told him several times read the emails and get ADSL. But anyways I'll keep sending comms to the committee via email which is MY quickest way of getting the point across and saves ME time & money.

Darren also contacts me concerning some late results, we banter for a while and I tell him "I am not the captain" and to "simply take the points away from EVERYONE" and they will quickly learn their lesson. After the banter jejejeje, I of course send AmosB. an email so that he hands in the league result sheets asap.

Quick, quick if its computer related, just clap your hands or wiggle your nose and the task is completed WROOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Darren asks me for details of his team such as the phone numbers and after he has lost the information on several occasions I think "Darren not again!!! chickpea brain". Anyways, I give him the benefit of the doubt as he is only missing his 2 new player details soooooo I redo the excel sheet which is an extraction from the membership database (A little exercise which should be easy but it takes over 10 minutes to complete).

On a concluding comment for today, why do they ask if I can take down the league results when we finish on the night!!!!!!!! Guys please. I am not the league secretary and I don't want to take result sheets as I can also misplace them, so cut out the middle man. It is your responsibility to take them down to the Cue Ball drop off point or hand them directly yo the league secretary SO DON'T ASK....
